Are the Balkan states heading forward into the European Union?

Romania and Bulgaria will join the EU probably in 2007 and definitely not later than 2008. Slovenia is the first country of the 10 new members, which joined the EU in 2004, which is ready for the Euro and will set up the new currency in 2007. By the way, it is said they created the most beautiful coins besides the Italian ones. And Montenegro hopes to have done a step further towards the EU by separating from Serbia.
