Seven New Wonders

Many people may wonder how wonderful the Seven Ancient Wonders of the world actually were, as we can only wonder at the one remaining example – the Great Pyramid of Khufu. 2000 years ago the Greek philosopher Philon only had the oracle to consult to establish the old 7 wonders, whereas Bernard Weber can consult the whole world via the internet and telephone. Bernard Weber is the founder and president of the project to find the new 7 wonders of the world by means of telephone and internet voting. Millions of people worldwide have already cast their votes to reduce the world’s many wonders to a shortlist of 21. The final Seven New Wonders of the World will be announced at the beginning of 2007. Andrew Gledhill spoke to Mr. Weber for Heritage Radio Network.
